TKAM Difference Between Movie and Novel 1/12/15

Prompt: the most important difference between the written and filmed version? Provide evidence with specific details

Both the movie and the book were great pieces of work but they were both very different. The most important difference between the two is that in the movie some characters do are say different things then what they did in the book. Like how some characters are left out so then other character have to take there lines. Or how some scenes are left out so then they have to explain with other characters and different scenes. So reading and watching both the movies and the book its ads another prospective witch makes the story that much better.

An example of this is when Jem was the one who found the trinkets. Since he found them and not scout they had to make another scene to explain the trinkets. That scene is when we find out that Jem was hiding the trinkets from Scout. Even though Jem was first kind of selfish with the trinkets taking them for himself he matured enough to decide that it was not just for him and he shares it with Scout. So they show coming of age for Jem very differently in the movie then in the book.

In the book is made it very clear that Scout did not want to be considered a girl like figure she wanted to more of a tomboy. In the movie it never really emphasized the Scout more boyish behavior. With the los of Scout's more tomboy attitude I felt like she lost some of her comedy. Without the comedy that Scout provided in the book the movie was plainer and not as enjoyable.

  1. How did you find that picture? It fits your prompt very well! I thought that your blog was pretty hard to read, you should probably make the text highlighted in a different color. Great blog!
