Rivals blog 1/25/15

Prompt: Summarize about what has happened in the book so far.
Pages Read: 50-85

After Josh gained back conciseness he decided not to take his base and go for the home run that could decide if they will be going to the Cooperstown travel tournament. As Josh steps up to the plate he saw the look on the pitchers face that almost maid him laugh. The first pitch is delivered STRIKE ONE Josh didn't even swing the second pitch is delivered this time Josh swings big but just misses STRIKE TWO.  The third pitch is delivered it was a curveball but Josh read the pitch all the way and swung with all his might and sends the ball past the fence and sends the ball into the mountains a 2 run homer to put his team the Titans up by one.

The next batter strikes out in three pitches and the Titans take the field for the last time in the game. Amazingly after Josh getting beamed in the eye with a 65-mile an hour curveball he is also capable of taking the field. The pitcher for the titans walked the first batter and the second but the third batter grounders the ball right at the second basemen and the second basemen digs the ball right up of the ground and the Titans turn a game changing double play. Since the Titans were turning a double play the runner was able to advance from second to third. It comes down to the very pitcher that beamed Josh in the head Planczeck. The pitch is delivered and Planczeck hits a solid pop fly behind Josh and Josh made a pretty much impossible catch to win a game for the Titans.

After the Titans picked up Josh and carried him of the field his parents had to rush him to the emergency room to make sure there is no permanent damage to the eye. They get a doctor to take a look at josh right away and after taking multiple tests such as X-rays, MRIs, and eye sight tests the doctors finally came to the conclusion that Josh had cracked the bone behind the eye that keeps the eye on place. The options were to either let the bone heal naturally which would mean that Josh would not be able to participate in the Cooperstown tournament and the second option is to have surgery to help heal the bone faster but the one risk is that in the proceeded goes wrong it could lead to permanent damage to the eye. This is where Josh has to make the hardest decision of his life.

This is not a summary; instead this is a detailed account about everything that happened. A summary highlights the main points of what occurs. Let's try to focus on a one paragraph summary and then another prompt for the other two paragraphs.

  2. Good job! This is a very good restatement of what happened but it is not really a summary. You should chose a different prompt if you didn't read enough pages to do a summary.
